How We Make Your Acrylic Sign Board in Dubai
Every iDesign acrylic sign goes through five stages: design, material selection, fabrication, quality check, and installation. All handled by our own team in Al Qusais — no outsourcing at any stage.

Design Brief & Artwork
Share your logo, dimensions, and brand colours — or our designer creates a concept from scratch. We produce a scaled design showing exact layout, typography, and material. For reception signs and 3D letter projects, a photorealistic visualisation shows the sign installed on your actual wall before fabrication begins.
No design fee for standard projects. Accepted formats: AI, PDF, EPS, CDR, DXF. JPG and PNG accepted but vector preferred for cutting accuracy.

Material & Finish Selection
We recommend the right specification for your application. Indoor office signs: 5–8mm clear or frosted cast acrylic. Outdoor signs: 8–12mm UV-stabilised cast acrylic. Illuminated signs: 3–5mm diffuser-grade acrylic for even light distribution.
Visit our Al Qusais workshop to handle material samples before confirming — recommended for premium projects. Walk-ins welcome Saturday to Thursday, 8 AM–6 PM.

Precision Fabrication
Approved artwork is converted into a CNC or laser cutting file. Sheets are cut, then engraved, polished, bent, or printed as required. Each component is checked against the design template before assembly. LEDs are fitted and tested before face panels are sealed on illuminated signs.

Quality Check & Finishing
Every sign is checked against the approved design. We verify dimensional accuracy, edge finish, colour match, and LED uniformity for illuminated signs. Any component that does not meet standard is remade, not patched. Illuminated signs run a 24-hour power-on test before dispatch.

Delivery & Installation
Small signs are delivered with installation hardware and instructions. Larger signs — reception walls, 3D letters, illuminated installations — are installed by our own crew across all Dubai areas. Installation included in quote for standard locations. Same-day delivery sometimes available for small urgent orders.

Is acrylic suitable for outdoor signs in Dubai?+
Yes — but only cast acrylic with UV stabilisation. Cast acrylic lasts 5–8 years outdoors in Dubai's sun. Extruded acrylic yellows and cracks within 2–3 years. iDesign uses cast acrylic exclusively for all outdoor signs.
We also specify UV-resistant ink for printed elements and Grade 316 stainless fixing hardware. All built into our standard outdoor specification — no need to ask separately.
What is the difference between cast and extruded acrylic?+
Cast acrylic is poured into moulds — denser, clearer, UV-resistant. Extruded acrylic is machine-formed — cheaper but yellows and cracks in Dubai heat.
In Dubai's climate, the difference is critical. Cast acrylic holds clarity through heat cycling (cold AC to 50°C outdoor). Extruded acrylic surface-crazes within 1–2 years. iDesign uses cast acrylic on all sign boards — confirmed on every order.
Can you make custom-shaped acrylic signs?+
Yes — any shape. CNC routing and laser cutting produce custom shapes from your logo, icon, or geometric design. No minimum quantity — one piece accepted.
For curved or 3D shapes, heat forming bends flat acrylic into cylinders, compound curves, and angled forms. A cutting simulation is produced for approval before full production on larger custom orders.
How do you attach acrylic signs to walls?+
The most popular method is standoff fixings — chrome or stainless spacers holding the acrylic 10–15mm off the wall for a floating 3D effect.
Other options: direct screw mounting (hardware hidden), VHB tape for lighter panels (no drilling), and rail systems for swappable panels. Method recommended based on wall type and sign weight.

How do you clean acrylic signs?+
Soft microfibre cloth and mild soapy water. Wipe gently in one direction. Never use alcohol, acetone, bleach, or abrasive cleaners — they cause surface crazing even on cast acrylic.
For illuminated signs, dust the internal LED diffuser annually and check connections. iDesign offers annual maintenance visits for illuminated acrylic installations.
